After recently having been selected by Fingerprint Cards AB as licensed algorithm of choice earlier this week for the expressed purpose of allowing for the embedding of fingerprint authentication technology in smartphones and tablets, Precise Biometrics has released BioMatch Mobile. The new offering currently supports Android OS, with Precise Biometrics looking to offer it on other mobile operating systems in the future.
BioMatch Mobile works with all major sensors on the market and, according to Precise Biometrics CEO Thomas Marschall rounds out and completes the company’s mobile market offerings.
Marschall echoes a growing sentiment that fingerprint sensors will become standard mobile and smart device fare over the next three years. “We consider the fact that Fingerprint Cards chooses to integrate our technology with their sensors as a confirmation of the high potential in the segment for mobile embedded fingerprint technology,” he says. “Together with our existing products such as Tactivo and our mobile development toolkits, we are now able to offer a complete range of products that address mobile security issues on all types of devices for a very broad range of requirements.”
