“Boon first announced its support for Apple Pay in the spring of 2016. But at the time, it was only available in the US and the UK.”
Boon, a mobile payment app revolving around prepaid Mastercards, has launched in France, and in so doing has enabled Apple Pay support.
The advantage of Boon is that it allows users to pay for things using a prepaid credit card that is not affiliated with any specific bank. With its Apple Pay support, that means, Boon users can therefore take advantage of Apple Pay without need to upload payment cards issued by banks.
Boon first announced its support for Apple Pay in the spring of 2016. But at the time, it was only available in the US and the UK. The app has only just launched in France.
Apple Pay, meanwhile, launched in France last July with the support of several major financial institutions. Even then, Apple was promising further support from Boon, so this has been a development long in the making.
