July is Biometric Software Month at Mobile ID World and last week we took the opportunity to talk about the hyper-flexible identity management options being offered by today’s big biometric platforms. In the news, HYPR released a new software development kit that can enable offline biometric tokenization and a new app from Innefu Labs was launched, allowing for face, voice and behavioral authentication.

When it came to mobile hardware last week, the name of the game was fingerprint sensors with the announcement that Sonavation’s ultrasonic biometric scanner is compatible with Gorilla Glass. We learned that the latest ZTE flagship smartphone is sporting a fingerprint sensor from FPC (and therefore features Precise Biometrics software), and got a sneak peak at the upcoming OnePlus 2 handset. A report on the popularity of fingerprint sensors among integrated circuit makers rounded out the news in this realm along with the latest rumor about Samsung’s expected August product launch.
