“…Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth President Shamina Singh will take part in the Accelerating Universal Financial Access panel discussion.”
Mastercard is planning a significant presence at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC).
The company has announced that its Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Raja Rajamannar, will give a keynote speech at the Modern Marketing Summit, entitled “Transforming the Connected Consumer Experience”; and Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth President Shamina Singh will take part in the Accelerating Universal Financial Access panel discussion. It seems likely that both will touch on Masterpass, the company’s new all-channel digital payment platform, which can be used on desktop computers, mobile devices, and more.
It’s also likely to be mentioned by President of Enterprise Partnerships Carlos Menendez in the Paving the Way for Smart Cities private session, part of the GSMA’s Ministerial Programme. The technology was recently embraced by major transit programs in New York, allowing passengers to buy tickets using Masterpass on their mobile devices, and the digital payments platform could offer other smart city applications, as well.
It’s all part of the wide-ranging and highly varied programming planned for this year’s MWC, which will take place in Barcelona from February 27th to March 2nd.
