“…users need only to hold their smartphones over the Ziosk card reader to pay.”
Samsung is further extending the reach of its mobile payment service with a new partnership in the restaurant industry. The company has teamed up with Ziosk to enable Samsung Pay payments on its tablet.
The Ziosk tablet is designed specifically for the restaurant industry, offering a mobile means of ordering food and paying. Now, with the new partnership, said tablet can accept Samsung Pay payments; users need only to hold their smartphones over the Ziosk card reader to pay. And to promote the new functionality, Samsung is working with Friendly’s, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews, and Uno Pizzeria & Grill to offer Samsung Pay users a $5.00 discount on a bill of $10.00 or more at select locations.
The Ziosk support could help to raise the profile of Samsung Pay as the service continues to extend in availability around the world. Ziosk says its tablets are currently in use at 3,000 restaurants across the US, and by the end of this year the company expects to serve over 50 million diners per month. Now, with the new partnership, many of those customers could be settling their bills with Samsung Pay.
