Payroll solutions provider ADP has announced Apple Pay support for its ALINE card.
The ALINE card is essentially a prepaid payment card through which employees of participating organizations can get paid; employers simply transfer their paychecks onto employees’ ALINE cards. Now, those cardholders can transfer their ALINE cards onto Apple Pay, enabling them to use them for in-store mobile purchases from participating retailers.
Commenting on the integration in a statement, ADP Division Vice President and General Manager Gary Lott asserted, “Combining the convenience and accessibility of the ALINE Card with the security and mobility of Apple Pay offers our cardholders more flexible secure payment and shopping options.”
It’s a sentiment that is generally shared by many other Apple Pay supporters, who want to offer their customers a secure mobile option for payments. And while the support will only benefit a relatively small number of users, it further solidifies Apple Pay’s hold in the growing mPayment market.
