Precise Biometrics‘ flagship biometric algorithm software is being used to power the fingerprint scanning capabilities of another new smartphone from Spain-based OEM BQ.
The new BQ Aquaris X5 Plus uses Precise BioMatch Mobile software care of an integrated fingerprint sensor from Fingerprint Cards, the FPC1035. It’s the same sensor used in BQ’s Aquaris U Plus smartphone, which also featured Precise Biometrics algorithm software.

While Precise Biometrics has lately been pursuing a business strategy based on an expansion of its roster of hardware partners, the latest integration indicates the continued importance of longtime collaborator FPC. More broadly, the integration also underlines the prevalence of fingerprint sensor-equipped smartphones as the technology continues to saturate the global mobile market.
