Precise Biometrics is showcasing the utility of its Tactivo readers with a new case study on a deployment with a major UK hospital network.
The Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust has been using the Tactivo readers to secure access to its mobile workflow solution—a mobile app called Mobile Information Access, which works together with Servelec’s RiO clinical case management system. The Tactivo readers bring two-factor authentication to the mix, combining PIN and smart card-based authentication to ensure that patient data and other sensitive information is secure.
It’s a major deployment for Precise Biometrics, with over a thousand users taking advantage of the mobile workflow solution across 125 sites in southeast London. The deployment appears to be the same one announced by the company last spring, when it declined to specifically name the NHS foundation trust that had ordered its Tactivo readers. Signs of the foundation trust managers’ satisfaction with the solution began to appear that summer, when a major additional order was placed.
Now, Precise Biometrics says, Oxleas is planning to expand the service to “several hundred more” authorized users, suggesting that Precise Biometrics has hit upon a fertile market for its Tactivo devices.
