Comexposium, the European event organizer behind the CARTES conferences has recently announced the theme for this years flagship Secure Connexions event in Paris. Now an international event celebrating innovations in digital security, payment, identification and mobility, this November will mark the 29th iteration of CARTES.
The theme for this year’s Paris event is Users On The Move, a decision simply explained in a press release with the phrase, “Because we are an increasingly mobile world.”
Specifically, the theme will have the event focused on key issues in secure mobility, secure cloud computing services, biometrics and data protection. Smart commerce is also listed as a key topic this year, unsurprisingly considering the very recent deployments of strong identity based mobile finance applications.
The event will run from November 4th to 6th this year at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, welcoming the United Arab Emirates as the country of honor. This distinction has been made to recognize the UAE’s evolution into what Comexposium calls a dynamic hub for global trade with exceptional infrastructures and offers enormous potential for the digital security industry.
Throughout the three day CARTES event the expected trade exhibition will be running. This year CARTES is boasting upwards of 450 exhibitors from more than 50 countries.
Last month, Comexposium hosted CARTES America in Las Vegas: the Secure Connexions Event associated with the North American security market, also themed around mobility. Each of the CARTES iterations brings with it a SESAMES Awards, with this most recent one awarding Oberthur Technologies for innovations in emerging payment, and Zwipe AS for it’s biometric access card.
