HID Global access control technology will be used to enhance security at Cervantes High School in Guadalajara, Mexico, the company has announced.
School authorities implemented the technology via new turnstiles at the high school’s entrances, with students and school staff able to gain access using HID Global’s Seos smart cards or mobile ID cards held on their smartphones. HID Global says it has thus far issued 1,500 of each in this deployment.
It’s a project similar to one undertaken at an American university earlier this year, which also deployed HID Global Seos cards and mobile IDs to students and staff.
Other prospective clients could be further encouraged by the positive feedback reported from HID Global’s Cervantes High School deployment, with the school’s principal attesting in a statement that the access control solution “has not created any bottlenecks at school entrances, and the administrative process has proven to be very simple,” and asserting that the smartphone ID component “has been particularly attractive to students because of its convenience and novelty.”
