HP has announced a revamped portfolio of its Pavilion line of Windows 10 PCs. Available in a range of colors, the new laptops, notebooks, and desktops also take advantage of the powerful new Windows Hello security platform.
In addition to the lightweight HP Pavilion x360 laptop and affordable HP Pavilion Desktop, HP has announced two new HP Pavilion All-in-Ones – computer devices that are essentially large tablets configured with stands and keyboards to offer a desktop PC experience. Now, select models feature Intel RealSense cameras equipped with the infrared technology needed to enabling Windows Hello facial recognition, allowing users to conveniently log in just by looking at their computers.
The new devices further extend the Windows Hello ecosystem, which is gradually bringing biometric security to a wide user base. And given HP’s prominence as a major consumer electronics brand name, its Windows Hello support could prove influential in encouraging other third party OEMs to take advantage of Windows 10’s sophisticated biometric security capabilities, further popularizing the technology beyond Microsoft’s own device ecosystem.
