Today, Trustonic announced a partnership with mobile device OEM HTC in order to provide a platform for service providers to develop enhanced and secure user experiences. According to Trustonic’s press release announcing the collaboration, HTC devices that incorporate the ‹t-base Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) will be available in the first quarter of 2015.
Among the many benefits that will grow out of the partnership, high on the list of new device capabilities are simple, post-password authentication and greater malware protection. Made possible through biometrics and a Trusted User Interface (Trusted UI), these features are meant to lower end user friction, increase security and establish a reciprocal line of assurance between the device holder and service provider.
“Trustonic’s partnership with HTC is underpinned by the need for a simpler, quicker and safer device experience that will enhance the digital lives of users,” explains Ben Cade, CEO of Trustonic. “Security needs to be simple and effective, in any context. Trustonic makes it quick and easy for service providers and developers to add trust-enhanced services and to enrich the way people shop, work and view premium content.”
Drew Bamford, corporate vice president of Creative Labs at HTC calls the company’s partnership with Trustonic an important part of its mobile strategy which involves differentiating HTC devices from the competition in terms of convenience and security.
“HTC users will be able to enjoy quick and effortless authentication to their digital lives,” says Bamford.
Trustonic’s Trusted User Interface was in the news last week too, with Nok Nok Labs announcing that its NNL S3 Authentication Suite now supports Trusted UI for secure mobile payments.
