The newly minted partnership will see ImageWare introducing its biometric user authentication and cloud-based identity management platform to BlueMix: the codename for IBM’s Could Platform.
As a result, BlueMix customers can now choose the authentication methods best suited for their needs. Developers building in IBM BlueMix now have ImageWare biometric solutions at their disposal when looking for security functions for purposes of logical access control, mobile payment authentication, patient engagement and more.
ImageWare’s platform, GoCloudID is well suited for this kind of open environment. Because it is made with the IDaaS model in mind, the cloud platform is hardware agnostic and supports plug’n’play devices. The company particularly underlines that this amount of flexibility greatly reduces deployment time, but it is also a big factor in breaking down nearly all of the barriers of biometric adoption.
“Worldwide mobile device payments are expected to reach $400 billion by 2015, with more and more mobile devices being designed with biometric features,” says ImageWare CEO Jim Miller. “It is critical we work with leading technology companies, like IBM, to effectively and comprehensively address identity and access management security challenges facing businesses and consumers in the new big-data, smart mobile world. For more than a decade, we have been working in a variety of large and demanding environments. With IBM, we have a partner who delivers world-class cloud services for public, on-premise and private infrastructure platforms.”
ImageWare also recently announced that it will be issuing a corporate update via conference call on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 5:00PM Eastern Daylight Time. The call will be broadcast live over the Internet and a recording will be made available later that evening.
