Sansa Security has won a cool new distinction in the world of the Internet of Things. The company was just named a Cool Vendor in Gartner’s new Cool Vendors in the Internet of Things, 2015 report.
The distinction means that Sansa is a vendor in the IoT market pursuing innovative approaches to the IoT that can help leaders in the market to build interesting new solutions. According to Sansa, the company was highlighted primarily because of its “dynamic trust model for provisioning and managing secure assets for chip manufacturers, OEMs, and IoT service providers whether devices are on the factory floor, in the field, or even at rest.”
In a statement acknowledging the distinction, Sansa’s VP of products, Asaf Shen, emphasized the range of solutions provided by the company, allowing it “to provide our customers and partners with end-to-end trust as a platform in IoT.” Those solutions include Sansa Client, a device-focused software stack; the cloud-based Sansa Server; Sansa Silicon, a chipset security infrastructure platform; and Sansa Trustlets, the company’s TEE-based applications.
There are other reasons that Sansa makes a good fit on Gartner’s list. For one thing, the company was an early champion of biometric security for the IoT, which seems to be proving prescient. Sansa also was recently added to the AllSeen Alliance, a consortium or organizations seeking to establish a common, open source platform for the IoT. Sansa’s star is rising in the IoT world, and the company will no doubt make news again as the IoT expands.
