Worldpay and Verifone are working to expand the reach of mPayments in the UK. The companies have announced that the former is expanding its offering of Verifone POS solutions to its clients in the region.
That means customers of Worldpay will have access to devices like the VX690, a portable POS device offering WiFi, GPRS, and 3G connectivity, and supporting mPayment platforms like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Android Pay. In a statement announcing the move, Worldpay UK Managing Director Dave Hobday said, “We are pleased to be extending our partnership with Verifone, enabling our customers to access the very latest POS solutions, enabling them to sell more.”
The announcement comes just ahead of this year’s TRUSTECH 2016 conference, with Verifone having won a SESAME Award for its POS solutions at last year’s CARTES event. For its part, Worldpay raised some eyebrows earlier this autumn with a novel system enabling Touch ID authentication for phone call-based transactions.
