Calgary Scientific is touting its recognition from growth consultancy firm Frost & Sullivan, which gave the company a 2014 Best Practices Award last December. More specifically, the company won the 2014 North American Medical Imaging Informatics Growth Capital Investment Opportunity Award.
It’s a mouthful, but it essentially means that Frost & Sullivan deems Calgary Scientific to be a good investment in the field of medical IT technology. In a statement, Frost & Sullivan Senior Research Analyst Dr. Saneesh Edacherian cited the company’s “extremely capable management team” as a driving force behind its ability to raise $43 million in equity funding as of June of last year. He also noted that Calgary Scientific effectively engages both new and existing OEMs, and that its focus on building its design and engineering divisions has helped it to develop its flagship technologies.
Among those offerings are the PureWeb enterprise modernization system, and the ResolutionMD digital imaging platform, which was approved for the Japanese healthcare system this spring and for that of Australia last fall. Resolution MD could find more opportunities as healthcare systems around the world seek to cut costs as they try to adapt to changing demographic pressures.
