Comcast customers can now pay their television and internet bills with Apple Pay.
Or some of them can, at least – the feature is seeing a phased launch, rolling out in a new software update that should arrive to all users of the Comcast mobile iPhone app over the coming few weeks. The functionality arrives soon after Apple Pay was enabled for web-based bill payments last month.
It also arrives the same week that Western Union enabled Apple Pay for money transfers, signalling the expansion of Apple’s mPayment platform across a range of channels. According to a recent report from Juniper Research, Apple Pay is leading the nascent mPayment market, and is poised to continue in that position for the foreseeable future.
For now, though, some Comcast customers will be happy to find that bill payment is just a fingerprint scan away.
