Fujitsu Becomes NNL S3 Authentication Suite Reseller

June 15, 2017

Fujitsu has officially become a value-added reseller of Nok Nok Labs’ S3 Authentication Suite, the companies have announced.

Fujitsu Becomes NNL S3 Authentication Suite Reseller The Japan-based company will offer NNL’s platform through its Online Biometric Authentication Service, promoting it as a solution for large scale authentication projects. The partnership will initially focus on the Japanese market, but the companies say they plan to expand it to Fujitsu customers in North America, Australia, New Zealand, and the EMEA region.

In a statement announcing the partnership, the head of Fujitsu’s IoT Business Unit Front Digital Service Division, Michihiro Ejiri, said the integration of the S3 Authentication Suite “enables us to extend strong biometric authentication to our customers,” adding later that it “will enable financial customers in Japan to undergo digital transformations and increase their competitive advantage, and will eventually extend into other global vertical markets.”

A major through line in this partnership is the FIDO Alliance and its authentication standards. NNL is a founding member of the consortium, and both the S3 Authentication Suite and Fujitsu’s Online Biometric Authentication Service adhere to FIDO standards. The partnership arrives not long after FIDO announced its FIDO Japan Working Group at the end of last year, suggesting the regional focus is producing results.
