“The nonprofit, Khushi Baby, offers pregnant women and young children an electronic necklace containing the wearer’s digital health record.”
A US-based maternal and pediatric care nonprofit has teamed up with OT-Morpho subsidiary Syscom Corporation to integrate the latter’s biometric tablet into its flagship medical necklace solution.
The nonprofit, Khushi Baby, offers pregnant women and young children an electronic necklace containing the wearer’s digital health record. A mobile app is designed to pair wirelessly pair with the necklace, allowing healthcare workers to read the device’s healthcare data via NFC.
Now, Khushi Baby is going to add the MorphoTablet to the mix. According to a statement announcing the collaboration, the tablet’s support for fingerprint and facial biometrics will allow the Khushi Baby platform to “authenticate individual ownership of their health record and take patient consent before making any updates”.
The partnership comes after Safran Identity & Security, which has since merged with Oberthur Technologies to make OT-Morpho, launched a sequel device, the MorphoTablet 2, last autumn.
