Samsung Offers $30 Gift Cards to New mPayment Users

March 14, 2016

Samsung is making another big promotional push in the US market for its mPayment platform. Until the end of this month, new users can get free $30 gift cards to merchants including Best Buy, Whole Foods, Nike, Regal Cinema, and even eBay.

Samsung Offers $30 Gift Cards to New mPayment Users There are restrictions, of course. The promotion is only compatible with participating cards and carriers, and Bank of America debit and private label cards aren’t eligible. Still, for those able to qualify, a free $30 incentive could prove to be a good way of getting new users; the offer kicks in with an individual’s first purchase on Samsung Pay, and the company is clearly hoping it will be a gateway to many more such transactions.

In a statement announcing the promotion on its website, Samsung highlighted the simplicity and security of its mPayment platform, with a clip of an ad featuring comedian Hannibal Buress highlighting the former in particular. The promotion also helps to illustrate the service’s integration of store cards, a feature in which Samsung Pay seems to be leading against competitors like Apple Pay, which currently only supports merchant cards from BJ’s and Kohl’s.

Samsung has so far been enthusiastic about the success of its mPayment platform in the US market, and this latest promotion could help the company to further encourage user adoption of mPayments in the country.
