Saudi Arabia continues to advance its digital transformation initiatives through multiple new technological implementations and partnerships, building on its recent success with the digital identity system for Hajj pilgrims. Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif has inaugurated several key facilities, including the Innovation Center and the Indicators and Artificial Intelligence Center, designed to enhance security operations through modern technology.
The kingdom has expanded its Absher platform services, introducing new digital capabilities for both individuals and businesses. The Absher Individuals platform, which serves as the foundation of Saudi Arabia’s digital government services strategy, now offers accident registration, vehicle license printing, digital air weapon licenses, accident reports, vehicle data reports, and driving licenses. The Absher Business platform has added new services for rock-cutting technicians’ licenses and the transportation of rock-cutting materials, demonstrating the kingdom’s commitment to digitizing industrial sector regulations.
The General Directorate of Public Security in Riyadh has received significant technological upgrades, with Prince Abdulaziz inspecting the new building equipped with advanced security equipment to strengthen the kingdom’s security capabilities. The development supports Saudi Arabia’s broader digital transformation strategy, which has already shown success in telecommunications, as demonstrated by the recent deployment of eSIM management platforms in the region.
The Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) has strengthened its international partnerships through multiple memorandums of understanding signed during its fourth general assembly in Amman. The agreements include collaborations with the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Foundation, Hewlett-Packard, and the Agency for Economic Cooperation and Development, focusing on empowering youth and women in the technology sector and promoting digital economic growth. The international cooperation follows the model of successful digital transformation initiatives seen in other regions, such as Estonia’s achievement of complete digital government services.
