Some big names are adding support for Apple Pay on the web, reports AppleInsider.
Customers of office supplies retailer Staples will soon be able to make online orders via Apple Pay on the Safari browser. Meanwhile, UK airline easyJet and Russia’s Aeroflot have enabled desktop and mobile support for web-based Apple Pay transactions.
Apple Pay’s web-based functionality launched last month with the support of BigCommerce and its e-commerce network, as well as the Squarespace website-building platform, home decor site Wayfair, and magazine brands affiliated with Time. The brands are helping to popularize Apple Pay mPayments on the web, not to mention biometric authentication, with Touch ID fingerprint scans still required on paired devices for payment authentication.
As AppleInsider reports, StubHub is also onboard, and Target and Fandango have announced their support, though it isn’t yet live.
