Smart card management solutions provider Versasec has announced support for Yubico’s YubiKey second-factor authentication devices. In so doing, it has become Yubico’s first Card Management System (CMS) partner.
The Yubico 2FA support will be enabled with Versasec’s next update of its vSEC:CMS platform, which is due later in July, allowing vSEC:CMS users to take advantage of YubiKey authentication via its Personal Identity Verification (PIV) smart card mode. In anticipation of the integration, on July 13th the companies will jointly host a webinar on the topic for their clients.
In a statement announcing the support, Versasec CEO Joakim Thorén called Yubico “a powerful force for enterprises,” adding that YubiKey offers “a scalable solution that protects their corporate data and systems.”
The Versasec support adds further momentum to Yubico as two- and multi-factor authentication becomes increasingly popular, particularly among enterprises, and complements recent high-profile support from GitLab and GitHub. Commenting on the new collaboration, Yubico VP Jerrod Chong said it’s “a significant, first partnership for Yubico in the Card Management System space with a proven company.”
