“The new capabilities complement existing security features of RSA SecurID Access such as push notification-based verification, biometric authentication based on fingerprint and eye recognition, and software and hardware tokens.”
RSA has upgraded its RSA SecurID Access solution.
The platform now offers a cloud-based identity verification option, called Authentication-as-a-Service. It also now has a threat assessment feature for login attempts based on metadata such as IP address, location, the device being used, and so on.
The new capabilities complement existing security features of RSA SecurID Access such as push notification-based verification, biometric authentication based on fingerprint and eye recognition, and software and hardware tokens.
In a statement, RSA Identity Products VP Jim Ducharme explained that the upgrade “enables our existing customers to extend their use of RSA SecurID Access from the traditional authentication strategies and methods to cloud-based, flexible options for their increasingly mobile workforce and other users requiring authentication.”
RSA says the solution is highly scalable, able to serve a small user population or “one with millions of users”; and with the new upgrade, it can now be deployed as either an on-premise solution or via the cloud, or in a hybrid configuration.
