There’s a pretty wide range of coverage on Mobile ID World, given the growing vastness of the mobile identity ecosystem; and a given week’s top stories generally reflect that diversity. This week was a bit different, though. Apple unveiled its latest lineup of gadgets.
It’s a yearly tradition that always garners a lot of attention, and not just from Apple fans. Apple is arguably the world’s top prestige tech brand, and it has a history of prompting industry-wide trends with its technological innovations, as can be seen in its introduction of Touch ID back in 2013, and Face ID just a couple of years ago.
Understandably, Mobile ID World readers were most interested in the latest Apple news this week, even if it wasn’t earth-shattering:
Face ID is Back and Better Than Ever in the New iPhone 11
New Apple Watch Will Be Very, Very Aware of What’s Going On with You
Readers were also interested in an Apple story that didn’t concern itself with this year’s devices, but instead projected to what’s in the pipeline for beyond 2019:
Bloomberg Piles On Evidence of In-Display Touch ID for Future iPhones
There was some non-Apple news that got some serious reader attention this week, too. Vuzix, for one, raised some eyebrows with its plans to showcase the security applications of its Blade Smart Glasses at GSX:
Vuzix to Showcase Biometric Smartglasses Security at GSX 2019
And Yoti also got a bit of the spotlight with its announcement that it would help to provide identity verification for an online dating platform:
