Bixby Makes South Korea Debut with Siri Diss Track

May 5, 2017

Samsung’s new AI assistant is finally rolling out in South Korea, and is making its debut with a diss track against Siri.

Bixby Makes South Korea Debut with Siri Diss TrackUsers who ask Samsung’s Bixby to “please rap” will be treated to a rap track. In its second section, the first letter of each verse spells out the phrase “I am better than Siri.”

Most diss tracks are not so subtle. But given that Bixby is currently available only in South Korea, while Siri’s reach extends around the world and across several languages, it’s probably best that Samsung isn’t too overt in taunting Apple and its Siri system just yet, lest it provoke retaliation a la the Drake-Meek Mill beef of 2015.

Amazon’s Alexa, meanwhile, is above this kind of beefing, with a wealth of data from third party use helping to make the voice-based AI system ever more sophisticated as its rivals tire themselves out with their petty feuds.
