A new digital-focused bank branch in Brazil is going to be a showcase for sophisticated technology from Diebold Nixdorf.
The Saque e Pague branch will not feature live tellers, offering in their place digital services facilitated by NFC communication and biometric authentication technologies. At the same time, two-way video assistance will be available for more complex transactions that require human assistance.
In a statement announcing the initiative, Saque e Pague Executive Director Nori Lermen explained that the branch “is completely built around the consumer experience,” adding that Diebold Nixdorf’s technology has allowed the bank “to reimagine the consumer journey and introduce new solutions and services to the market.”
While the specific technological systems to be showcased have not yet been announced, the new bank branch presents Diebold Nixdorf the opportunity to showcase the kind of sophisticated technologies underlying some of its more innovative recent ATM designs, such as machine demonstrated at last month’s Money20/20 event in Las Vegas that allows customers to access their accounts by taking a selfie on their smartphone. And Diebold Nixdorf has guaranteed “first and second line maintenance services” for the branch, suggesting that is is committing to ensuring that a large number of customers have the opportunity to experience the technologies on display.
