“…Huawei’s Changxiang 6S features a Synaptics Natural ID fingerprint sensor.”
Synaptics is celebrating what could be an important win in its bid for more marketshare, with Huawei having integrated its fingerprint sensor technology into a new device.
Along with Synaptics’ TouchView TDDI touchscreen technology, Huawei’s Changxiang 6S features a Synaptics Natural ID fingerprint sensor. The sensor is located on the rear face of the device, enabling convenient biometric authentication for the user.
It’s a notable integration in part because Huawei has generally stuck with Fingerprint Cards for its mobile fingerprint sensor needs in recent history. Indeed, in just the last couple of months the company released groundbreaking new designs featuring under-glass fingerprint sensors care of FPC – a technology that Synaptics has also been exploring intensively.
In a statement announcing the integration, Synaptics Marketing VP Anthony Gioeli said Synaptics’ team “is very pleased to have been selected” by Huawei for the integrations, adding, “We very much look forward to building on this innovative design”.
