This week at the Fujitsu Forum in Munich, Germany, ImageWare Systems will be debuting and demonstrating a biometric retail solution. ImageWare, a mobile and cloud-based biometrics specialist, has combined its GoVerifyID app with the Fujitsu Retail Solution Marketplace, enabling point of sale transactions to be biometrically authenticated and completed through mobile channels.
Rowan Cape, director of Global Retail Software Solutions at Fujitsu America, is enthusiastic about the ImageWare solution that’s being showcased in Munich this week. He says, “Adding [ImageWare]’s fast and powerful biometric authentication to transaction processing elevates the level of trust that can be established between retailers and their customers, minimizing the overall risk of fraud from the entire retail operation.”
The combined solution helps combat fraud while simplifying the retail transaction infrastructure. The Fujitsu Market Place adds consistency for customers, by ensuring that there is no disparity in price or promotions when comparing real life shopping to online storefronts. GoVerfiyID allows transactions at all customer interactions points to benefit from strong biometric authentication.
Thanks to the Biometrics-as-a-Service paradigm that ImageWare operates in, the retail and eCommerce solution is majorly flexible. It’s software and hardware agnostic, supporting plug-n-play technology and offering relying parties the choice of modality that works best for them and their customers.
Additionally, the GoCloudID software development kit makes sure that integrating these described accessibility and security features doesn’t mean a full overhaul of established websites and mobile apps. One of the big draws of ImageWare’s technology, especially in cases like this, is how quickly it can be rolled out. Thanks to its cloud-based nature and flexibility, what would be weeks in some scenarios can be achieved in just part of a day.
ImageWare chairman and CEO Jim Miller comments, “Through our partnership with Fujitsu and their global omni-channel commerce solution, FUJITSU Market Place, the demonstration shows we can bring convenience and biometric-based security to retailing and ‘e-tailing’ via the omni-channel functions that Fujitsu Market Place addresses, improving customer service and overall enterprise efficiency.”
The Fujitsu Forum runs this week from November 19 through 20 in Munich, Germany.
