“[The Huawei Mate 9 Lite] features an FPC1025 sensor, while the Porsche Design and Pro devices each have an FPC1268 embedded under their front glass faces.”
Huawei is launching its Mate 9 Lite smartphone to the international market, and the device features a fingerprint sensor from Fingerprint Cards.
It isn’t quite a new device. The Mate 9 Lite is actually a rebranded version of the Honor 6X, a device launched in China last month. Huawei is evidently seeking to capitalize on the excitement being generated by the other new devices under its Mate 9 brand – the Mate 9 Porsche Design and the Mate 9 Pro.
All of these smartphones feature FPC technology, but the Mate 9 Lite is different. It features an FPC1025 sensor, while the Porsche Design and Pro devices each have an FPC1268 embedded under their front glass faces.
Huawei hasn’t yet set an official release date for the Mate 9 Lite, but given that it’s clearly meant to ride the wave of the its other brand siblings, it should be available shortly.
