“…after an initial authentication process based on strong password credentials, users can take advantage of mobile fingerprint and facial recognition for app access.”
Alabama-based Vincari has announced that its flagship digital physician assistant is now available on iOS and Android devices.
Dubbed ‘Vincari On the Go’, it lets physicians view their schedules and create and sign medical documentation on their mobile devices. They can also attach mobile photos to these documents as necessary, allowing physicians to use their smartphones for pretty much the whole patient documentation process. It’s a considerable upgrade from Vincari’s previous solution, which required the use of a desktop applications.
The solution also boasts of substantial security measures, partly in the aim of ensuring HIPAA compliance. Protected health information is stored on Amazon Web Services and is deleted from a given device as soon as a user logs out, and data is encrypted every step of the way. And after an initial authentication process based on strong password credentials, users can take advantage of mobile fingerprint and facial recognition for app access.
Thus it’s another example of the growing use of mobile and biometric technologies in healthcare, both in the service of regulatory compliance and making work easier and more efficient for doctors.
Vincari On the Go is available from the Google Play and iOS App Stores now.
