New devices from the Lenovo-owned Moto mobile brand feature biometric technology from Fingerprint Cards. The fingerprint sensor specialist has announced that its FPC1035 sensor model is being used in Moto’s G5S and G5S Plus smartphones.
Moto is a frequent customer of FPC, with two other integrations having been announced last month alone, in the Z2 Play and Z2 Force. Both of those smartphones also featured the FPC1035 sensor model.
The smartphone integrations underline the apparent resurgence of FPC’s mobile business after a first half that proved difficult due to tough competition and a buildup of inventory among clients, with multiple other new smartphone integrations having been announced since CEO Christian Fredrikson asserted that the business has stabilized in the company’s recent Q2 update. Meanwhile, FPC continues to expand into the PC market, with recent integrations of its fingerprint sensor technology into a gaming mouse and a new Microsoft keyboard.
