FPC biometric fingerprint sensors have been integrated into three new smartphones, one of which is the Motorola Moto Z Play.
Fingerprint Cards (FPC) technology has been integrated into a few new smartphones.
First off, the company has announced that its FPC1145 sensor has been incorporated in two new phones from “an OEM in Japan”, which the company has declined to name. FPC did add that for these phones the sensors are mounted on the side.
Meanwhile, FPC and longtime software partner Precise Biometrics have both announced that their respective technologies have been integrated into Motorola’s new Moto Z Play. Motorola, now a subsidiary brand of Lenovo, has been a repeat client of Fingerprint Cards since it committed to including fingerprint sensors in its new smartphones at the start of this year. This most recent integration involves the FPC1035 fingerprint sensor running Precise Biometrics’ Precise BioMatch Mobile software.
The new integrations arrive on the heels of a slew of others for both FPC and Precise Biometrics, illustrating their leading positions as suppliers of biometric technologies to the mobile sector, and the growing market for such technology in mobile applications.
