“Such solutions include those in its NEC WISE artificial intelligence line, which features technologies based on facial and fingerprint recognition, among other technologies.”
NEC has been hard at work on new IoT and AI solutions for businesses and governments, and will be showing them off at a couple of big events this winter.
To start, NEC’s own NEC Innovative Solutions Fair 2017 begins today, with the company hosting guests at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. The theme is Co-creating Cities of Tomorrow, with NEC showing off its “urban and business transformation solutions”, according to a statement from the company.
Such solutions include those in its NEC WISE artificial intelligence line, which features technologies based on facial and fingerprint recognition, among other technologies. These solutions will also be on display at next month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where NEC CEO Takashi Niino will participate in a keynote presentation entitled “Connecting Industry and The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals”. The company will also take the opportunity of MWC to showcase its emerging communications and networking efforts, including 5G connectivity technology.
NEC is evidently looking to position itself not only as a corporate solutions provider, but as an important partner for governments seeking to leverage the latest technologies to better serve their citizens. And to that end, it’s getting a good start today as Kiren Jumar, head of the Singapore Economic Development Board’s Infocomm and Media efforts, delivers a keynote speech at the NEC Innovative Solutions Fair 2017. Jumar calls NEC “a longstanding partner” in “Singapore’s efforts to become the Digital Capital of Asia,” and his message could help to encourage other government authorities to seek out the company’s help, too.
