NEXT Biometrics is going to take the opportunity of the upcoming Trustech 2016 conference to show off its biometric smart card technology, the company has announced.
Smart cards have been a strategic focus of the biometrics company for about a year now, with NEXT Biometrics now working with Taiwan-based Innolux to build up its production capacity. Earlier this month, the company announced a major order of 250,000 smart card sensors for what it called a government application, though it hasn’t offered specific details about its client.
Announcing the company’s intention to show off its smart card technology at Trustech, NEXT Biometrics CEO Tore Etholm-Idsøe proclaimed that the order indicates “that NEXT is uniquely positioned within this massive opportunity space.”
NEXT VP Radek Matyasek elaborated that at Trustech the company will demonstrate its “flexible sensor in the format of polysilicon sheets as well as singulated sensors,” and will also offer demos of the technology in rigid cards.
Trustech 2016 will take place in Cannes from November 29th to December 1st.
