“The companies’ collaboration will also see the integration of Nok Nok Lab’s S3 Authentication Suite into the Gallagher Command Centre, Gallagher’s access control platform.”
Nok Nok Labs has teamed up with New Zealand-based security solutions provider Gallagher to offer a new mobile access control platform.
The system will essentially turn users’ mobile devices into smart cards, via an app. Nok Nok Labs says the mobile app will be based on FIDO Alliance standards, helping to ensure a high level of security. The companies’ collaboration will also see the integration of Nok Nok Lab’s S3 Authentication Suite into the Gallagher Command Centre, Gallagher’s access control platform.
The companies are aiming to launch their joint solution later this year, after Gallagher releases Gallagher Command Centre v. 7.60 in October, and it will roll out across North America, Europe, Turkey, Australia, and New Zealand.
In a statement announcing the partnership, Gallagher CTO Steve Bell explained that his company was drawn to Nok Nok Labs “because of their deep roots in the authentication landscape and their first-to-market FIDO-based solution.” That’s a testament not only to Nok Nok Labs, but to the growing prestige of FIDO and its authentication standards.
