“The agreement is another signal of OT-Morpho’s aims in pioneering remote SIM technology as the IoT and 5G continue to emerge…”
Spain-based telecom Telefónica will use OT-Morpho technology to manage digital subscriptions in the Internet of Things, thanks to a new partnership between the companies.
The agreement will see Telefónica using OT-Morpho’s GSMA M2M rev. 3.1 machine-to-machine subscription management platform, allowing Telefónica to remotely activate and deactivate connected devices. It is global in its reach, ensuring that all Telefónica operators around the world will be able to leverage the solution.
In a statement announcing the partnership, OT-Morpho MNO business director Pierre Barrial lauded Telefónica for being at the forefront of the emerging remote SIM trend, saying the company “is clearly an innovative leader on the market” that “now will benefit from our readiness on this new technology.”
The agreement is another signal of OT-Morpho’s aims in pioneering remote SIM technology as the IoT and 5G continue to emerge, with the company having announced last month that a new tablet from ASUS will feature its eSIM technology.
