The new Xiaomi Mi Max 2 smartphone features a fingerprint sensor from Fingerprint Cards.
The sensor model being used is an FPC1035, the same one used in Xiaomi’s Mi Max Prime smartphone from last autumn. But the Beijing-based OEM has had more recent FPC integrations too, being a regular customer, with the most recent being its Mi 6 device, which features the FPC1268, a sensor designed for under-glass applications.
Together with numerous other smartphone integration announcements, news of the Mi Max 2 integration stands in contrast against FPC’s warnings earlier this year that an inventory build-up among its mobile customers is expected to cause revenue dips in the first half of the year. The company has also announced integrations with OPPO, QiKU, and MicroMax in recent weeks.
The Mi Max 2 news also comes in the same week that FPC announced a significant step into the PC market with a new convertible tablet integration with Huawei.
