Aware is showcasing its mobile biometric technology at this week’s MWC Barcelona conference. The company’s wares will be on display at Booth 29 in Hall 5 at the Fira Gran Via throughout the event, which is set to run from February 28 to March 3.
Those who make the trip to the Aware booth will be treated to a live demonstration of the company’s Knomi biometric platform. Knomi is designed for remote onboarding and authentication, to help mitigate the threat of fraud in an increasingly perilous cybersecurity environment. In that regard, Aware believes that Knomi can help prevent identity theft and data breaches, and support a secure SIM card registration process for mobile operators.
Knomi can similarly be used for remote onboarding for mobile apps, and to authorize transactions on a mobile payments platform. Aware also hinted at a new authentication product that will be announced in the coming months, and invited interested guests to reach out to company representatives to get an exclusive private preview of the new solution.
“Mobile technologies are increasingly in need of a secure authentication alternative to the password, and we are excited to share our mobile authentication offerings with the attendees at Mobile World Congress,” said Aware CCO Rob Mungovan. “Our Knomi product provides mobile network operators and telecommunications providers with a highly secure authentication solution that does not sacrifice user convenience. We are looking forward to sharing the benefits of this product in person at this event.”
Knomi, of course, is a passwordless authentication offering. The platform received a 2022 BIG Innovation Award in January, while Aware itself recently teamed up with Anonybit to make it even more difficult for hackers to obtain someone’s biometric data. The GSMA will be checking vaccination records and COVD-19 test results as part of a Committed Community health policy to protect the health of MWC Barcelona visitors.
