“The user can scan their fingerprint directly on the TouchLock Bike Pro, or perform a fingerprint scan on their smartphone via the TouchLock app, or even use the app to authenticate with facial recognition via a selfie image.”
BIO-key is going unveiled a new biometric lock product this week at the Luxury Technology Show in New York City.
Part of the company’s TouchLock product line, the TouchLock Bike Pro is, as the name suggests, a biometric bike lock. It offers multiple mechanisms for unlocking the device: The user can scan their fingerprint directly on the TouchLock Bike Pro, or perform a fingerprint scan on their smartphone via the TouchLock app, or even use the app to authenticate with facial recognition via a selfie image.
PIN-based unlock is also supported, and the device is also available in Bluetooth-only and fingerprint-only models.
Prior to the event, BIO-key CEO Mike DePasquale commented on his company’s decision to unveil the device at the Luxury Technology Show, explaining that biometric technology “creates a convenient and secure access environment we call the Biometric of Things which should be of great interest to any luxury goods consumer.” DePasquale added, “We’re looking forward to our first Luxury Tech Show as we believe the audience it attracts will value the innovative design and advanced security our products deliver.”
The Luxury Technology Show took place on Wednesday, October 3rd, at the Metropolitan West venue, during which BIO-key showcased not only the TouchLock Bike Pro, but its entire TouchLock lineup of biometric locks at the event.
