Biometric Lock Pioneer Launches New Tech, Enterprise Platform

November 20, 2018

Biometric Lock Pioneer Launches New Tech, Enterprise PlatformTapplock, an early pioneer of the biometric lock concept, has unveiled a new version of its fingerprint-scanning lock and a new enterprise platform.

The company first announced its initial Tapplock device back in January of 2016, and while fingerprint-scanning locks still haven’t gone mainstream, it has seen a growing number of rivals follow it into the market in the ensuring years.

Now, Tapplock has announced the Tapplock One+, a device that can biometrically authenticate a user in only 0.8 seconds and that will get faster as its machine learning algorithm adapts to the registered user’s fingerprint, the company says. It can also be unlocked via a mobile app, paired to the device with Bluetooth; and it can even be unlocked using Morse code, for any old-timey spies using the device.

The device also boasts of 128-bit AES encryption, IP67 water and dust resistance, and IP67 water and dust resistance.

Meanwhile, the Tapplock Enterprise platform is designed to enable businesses to deploy the Tapplock One+ on an organizational basis. Custom permissions can be established for different users, and administrators have access to audit reports allowing them to track when a given lock was accessed or locked.

Tapplock announced the new solutions at last week’s ISC East security event in New York.
