“It’s further encouragement after the company’s previously reported deals with multinational card makers toward the end of 2016.”
Zwipe is reporting building excitement over biometric smart cards.
The company recently participated in the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA) Expo, which ran under the theme of “Adapting to the Wave of Change and Technology”. For its part, Zwipe was in the event’s New Technology Spotlight panel, sharing its progress in the development of its biometric smart card solutions with the audience.
In a statement, Partnerships Manager Joachim Tofthagen said that meeting with “shareholders in the alliance” reinforced Zwipe’s conviction that the smart card market is ready to integrate biometric solutions into the production chain, stating “we see this shift happening quickly and we believe Zwipe is well positioned to serve this market in 2017.”
It’s further encouragement after the company’s previously reported deals with multinational card makers toward the end of 2016. And given that Zwipe is aiming to bring dual interface biometric payment cards to market this year, it seems that its timing coincides with a ready market, if Tofthagen’s experience at the ICMA Expo offers any indication.
