Smartwatch and fitness band maker Huami has debuted several new wearables this week at CES 2020 in Las Vegas.
Although its Amazfit brand has up until now been reserved for its line of fitness bands and smartwatches, Huami unveiled its first foray into the earbud market with the new Amazfit EarBuds line.
The Amazfit PowerBuds — which are of the wireless in-ear type — offer heart rate monitoring and real-time motion tracking, and are listed as IP55 water-resistant, while also offering high-fidelity sound. Touch controls allow users to control audio playback with a tap, and their motion sensors will play or pause automatically when they are put on or taken off.
The other inclusion in the Amazfit EarBuds line, the ZenBuds, are more focused on relaxation and sleep, and feature an ergonomic noise-cancelling design while coming equipped with sleep tracking capabilities.
“By expanding our health and fitness technology expertise beyond smartwatches and fitness bands to include…earbuds, Amazfit is presenting a vision of the future of fitness in the coming decade and demonstrating how health and technology can come together in 2020 and beyond,” said Wang Huang, the company’s Founder, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.
In addition to debuting its new line of earbuds, Huami also showed off a pair of new smartwatches, the Amazfit T-Rex and the Amazfit Bip S.
The T-Rex is a ruggedized smartwatch built to meet US Military Standard certification, and is water, salt and alkali resistant. It has 14 different sport modes, and can track user activities like running, cycling and skiing. It’s also equipped with a BioTracker PPG optical heart rate sensor and sleep monitor, and comes with a 20-day battery life.
The Amazfit Bip S is a follow-up to Huami’s popular Amazfit Bip Lite and Amazfit Bip smartwatches. The Bip S is the first of Huami’s products to feature Huami PAI — a partnership between Huami and PAI Health, a healthcare software company — which tracks the wearer’s heart health and overall fitness using a number of metrics.
CES 2020 is taking place in Las Vegas and concludes today, January 10th.
