CES 2020 officially kicks off on January 7, and the organizers have released a quick primer to help guests navigate the massive conference. This year’s event is expected to draw more than 170,000 guests, who will collectively be able to get their hands on upwards of 20,000 new products from more than 4,500 different exhibitors.
The primer should help visitors cut through the noise and focus their attention, emphasizing some of the new features that have been introduced for 2020. This year’s show will have more than 1,500 new exhibitors, with a roster that includes major companies like Bridgestone, Delta, and Dupont. CES also notes that there are many exhibitors – including Impossible Foods, WWE and NBCUniversal – that would seem to fall outside of the traditional tech sphere.
CES 2020 will offer new conference tracks in Gaming and eSports, Travel and Tourism, Drone Operations, Innovation for All, and Voice Technology. The Innovation for All program is a diversity and inclusion initiative. On that front, the Health and Wellness marketplace will showcase a collection of new sex technology products, and there will also be an expanded Eureka Park and a series of policy discussions with international policy experts. The Female Quotient will serve as the official equality partner for CES 2020.
In the meantime, CES will offer the usual array of events, awards, and keynote presentations. The Consumer Technology Association has partnered with the World Bank to run a Global Tech Challenge, while Shark Tank will be hosting an open call for aspiring entrepreneurs. The keynote speakers represent organizations like Delta, Samsung, Daimler, and the FCC, and will touch on topics like 5G, transportation, and quantum technology.
Some of the new products scheduled to appear at this year’s event include a multi-finger Fingerprint-on-Display module, a new smart car platform, and a microwave with speech recognition capabilities.
