“Ericsson and China Telecom say that the platform will support China’s One Belt One Road initiative, an ambitious government program aimed at establishing business and industrial links in new countries and markets.”
Ericsson and China Telecom have launched a new connection management platform for the Internet of Things called the China Telecom IoT Open Platform.
Aimed at the enterprise sector, the platform is meant to help businesses easily connect with IoT devices and services. At its core is Ericsson’s Device Connection Platform, a unified connection management system that was first launched back in 2012. Ericsson says it’s now used by over 25 operators and 2,000 clients.
It may soon see many more users thanks to the China Telecom IoT Open Platform. Ericsson and China Telecom say that the platform will support China’s One Belt One Road initiative, an ambitious government program aimed at establishing business and industrial links in new countries and markets. (China Telecom is a state-owned enterprise.)
The China Telecom IoT Open Platform’s announcement comes soon after Ericsson and China Telecom announced they would partner to tackle the emerging IoT market near the start of this year.
