Circle Security’s Credential-Free Authentication solution is now available on the Auth0 Marketplace. The solution relies on an end user’s smartphone, leveraging its biometric authentication capabilities and its unique device signature to authenticate the user.
Every device, like a smartphone or laptop, has a unique set of characteristics – much like a digital fingerprint. This can include hardware specifics, software configurations, and other unique attributes of the device. When a user tries to access a system, this signature is checked to ensure that not only is the user’s biometric information correct, but they are also using a recognized and trusted device.
A third component to Circle’s solution, continuous cryptographic signing, is about capturing and encrypting the user’s behavior patterns – like how they type or interact with their device. These patterns are unique to each individual and are continuously monitored and verified against known patterns. It is an ongoing, dynamic form of authentication that happens in the background, ensuring that the person using the device is the legitimate user throughout the session.
“Our foundational technology built on a unique decentralized architecture helps developers and enterprises shift their cybersecurity strategy from Detect & Respond to Prevent & Eliminate,” explained Circle Security founder and CEO Phani Nagarjuna.
Circle Security’s Credential-Free Authentication solution integrates into the Auth0 Marketplace to enhance and extend the capabilities of Okta’s Customer Identity Cloud, which is powered by Auth0. Auth0 Marketplace is a catalog of trusted, pre-vetted integrations that extend the functionality of the Auth0 platform, making it easier for developers and companies to implement specific identity solutions.
