Credence ID has unveiled a new handheld device that combines a FAP 30 fingerprint scanner and a contact-based and contactless smart card reader in a system running on Android 7.1. The device is called the CredenceTWO.
In a statement announcing the new device, Credence ID asserted that it features “the industry’s highest quality full-fingerprint scanner”, and noted that it also features a five-inch LCD display. The device also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 3G, 4G, and LTE connectivity.
The CredenceTWO is the latest major device from the company since the launch of its CredenceTAB tablet, which won the Frost & Sullivan 2017 Global New Product Innovation Award.
Along with the device’s official unveiling, Credence ID has also announced its first two deployments. One will see the CredenceTWO used by a law enforcement agency in Latin America for the identification of wanted criminals in the field, while the other deployment will apply the device for biometric time and attendance tracking for “workers at geographically dispersed locations”.
