CyberArk has introduced Identity Bridge, a new solution designed to modernize identity and access management (IAM) for Linux systems. The capability provides centralized authentication management and reduces reliance on legacy authentication methods, addressing a significant security gap in enterprise environments. The launch builds on CyberArk’s recent expansion of its security portfolio, which has included adding several key security products to AWS Marketplace and enhancing its remote authentication capabilities.
Identity Bridge enables organizations to authenticate Linux systems using centralized accounts, integrating with both Active Directory and cloud Identity Providers. The integration proves particularly valuable for organizations operating in hybrid cloud environments, especially as enterprises continue to migrate between on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
The solution features phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA) and passwordless capabilities, supporting current security best practices and recent recommendations from federal agencies including the FBI and CISA. The platform also includes Just-In-Time access functionality, which maintains continuous authentication while minimizing potential attack surfaces.
A key benefit of Identity Bridge is its ability to reduce identity sprawl and management overhead through centralized user access and authentication management for Linux environments. The capability addresses a growing challenge in enterprise security, as organizations struggle to manage an expanding number of digital identities across diverse systems. The platform integrates with CyberArk’s existing privileged access management and identity tools, supporting a comprehensive defense-in-depth security approach.
“Being able to manage user authentication and authorization across the entire IT infrastructure from a single, centralized location is a must to avoid identities and permissions sprawl, privilege escalation challenges, and excessive management overhead,” said Peretz Regev, Chief Product Officer at CyberArk. “Identity Bridge is a directory-agnostic, flexible approach to Linux IAM centralization and modernization that will mean organizations can reduce access-related cyber risk across their Linux estates with modern authentication and maximal visibility.”
The release builds upon CyberArk’s existing security portfolio, which includes remote authentication solutions and privileged access management tools. Identity Bridge’s directory-agnostic approach allows organizations to implement modern authentication methods while maintaining comprehensive visibility across their Linux infrastructure, particularly important as enterprises continue to modernize their authentication systems in response to evolving security threats.
