CyberLink Will Showcase Selfie Authentication Solution at CES

December 16, 2020

CyberLink will be showcasing an electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) solution at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Next year’s event will be entirely digital, and is set to run from January 11-14.

CyberLink Will Showcase Selfie Authentication Solution at CES

The CyberLink eKYC offering is designed primarily for the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector, and leverages CyberLink’s flagship FaceMe facial recognition engine to match a customer’s face to the image on an official photo ID. FaceMe eKYC can be used during in-person interactions at a physical branch, or to authenticate customers remotely across digital channels. The solution can enable remote onboarding and subsequent step-up identity verifications. It is also compatible with smartphones, computers, ATMs, and security cameras.

“In light of COVID-19, financial institutions must digitalize transactions and processes while maintaining the highest level of security,” said CyberLink CEO Jau Huang. “Cutting-edge technologies such as facial recognition are the future of digital identity verification and we’re excited to showcase FaceMe eKYC and fintech solutions at CES 2021.”

FaceMe eKYC will not be the only FaceMe product at CES. In that regard, CyberLink will be showcasing FaceMe Health and FaceMe Security in addition to FaceMe eKYC. FaceMe Health debuted in August, and combines facial recognition with temperature and mask detection to help maintain public health during the pandemic. FaceMe Security, meanwhile, is intended for access control and other security functions.

CyberLink is currently celebrating a top-ten performance in the most recent round of the NIST’s Facial Recognition Vendor Test. The ninth-place finish improved on the company’s 18th place performance from earlier in the year. CyberLink’s FaceMe engine is now the third most accurate engine in the world outside of Russia and China.

In October, CyberLink integrated FaceMe with MediaTek’s i350 Edge AI ecosystem to facilitate biometric authentication on AIoT devices and in AIoT applications.
