FacePhi has found yet another partner for its onboarding services in Argentina. The facial recognition specialist has formed a partnership with Banco del Sol, the online banking arm of the country’s Sancor Seguros group, which will be deploying FacePhi’s SelphID solution for customer onboarding and authentication.
Argentina has proved to be a lucrative market for FacePhi. According to FacePhi CEO Javier Mira, the company is now partnered with eight financial institutions in the country, making Argentina the “bridgehead of our business development in Latin America, a market that continues to have growth potential and where our technological products are having a very good reception.”
FacePhi has recently branched out with new partnerships with banks in Ecuador and Peru, which would seem to validate that assessment. The company also reached an agreement with Argentina’s Banco Supervielle back in April.
The Banco del Sol alliance was formed in conjunction with Compusistem, FacePhi’s technology partner in Argentina. Banco del Sol will be leveraging SelphID to onboard new customers through the web and its mobile app. The SelphID solution negates the need to go to a physical branch location, allowing customers to open new accounts with facial recognition tech that matches a selfie against an official government-issued ID.
